It was rather by accident that I had my recent encounter with this Aqua Spirit duo. Danielle and Ran Mor are a pair of diving enthusiasts to the core. He – master of underwater photography techniques, and She – master diving instructor. They scout diving locations and tailor absolute dream diving adventures. They stop at nothing to make sure we enjoy our time together as a group. Ran guided us through underwater photography techniques and challenged us at putting these techniques to the test in each of our dives. Danielle went out of her way to assist me getting my Nitrox diver certification, and this was not originally planned. She also helped us to improve on our diving weights requirements. We were a group of strangers on the first day, and left as friends at the end of the week. I absolutely recommend their services. In fact, I already put down my deposit to join them again in the Maldives next year.
I was fortunate to be part of Aqua Spirit Dive Expeditions first UW Fashion Photography Master Class. Can you imagine – what fun, what a great experience, what a magnificent opportunity, what a special niche!!! Ran and Danielle Mor (owners of Aqua Spirit) arranged for the infamous Zena Holloway to lead and inspire the 12 lucky international underwater photographers in the art of Underwater Fashion Photography. Five international models worked tirelessly, to help train us (they were an impressive group.) The participants were literally from across the globe, (Kazakhstan, Italy, India, New Zealand, USA, UK, Argentina, Bahamas, Cuba, Israel….) An amazing and diverse group.
I’m told that Ran and Danielle worked for over a year to put the class together. Skills of the photographers and the models varied widely. That, in and of itself, was part of the learning experience. How often does a novice underwater photographer have the opportunity to work with a seasoned underwater fashion model… I can guaranteed you – not often. We needed to learn how to work with the extremely experienced model (quite an opportunity), as well as the inexperienced model, and support team. There was a whole lot about model safety and support I didn’t realize. Can you imagine what a logistics nightmare it would have been to coordinate that group and get them all to Bimini, in the Bahamas, at the same time! Everyone learned – and I mean everyone – learned from each other.
Danielle is amazingly organized!!!!! She kept popping up everywhere to make sure this-or-that was taken care of, people were safe and happy. She dealt with personalities, needs and wishes of the entire diverse group. (As you can imagine – there were plenty of strong personalities and diverse needs from the international group.) She is a star and a diplomat! Part of the time she doubled as a model – and she did that just as well.
Ran is someone you definitely want leading your dive adventure. Calm, encouraging and able to fix or diagnose just about any gear issue or photography question we came up with (and there were plenty). He was like Santa with his bag of spare parts and cool toys for us all to try. He too is very organized. The team is top notch. Actually, quite impressive.
All and all it was a very special experience. I’m inspired. I’m also appreciative of the superior job Aqua Spirit Dive Expeditions did in the execution of the first Underwater Fashion Photography Master Class.
I got to meet so many awesome people through our passions. Regardless of people from 11 different countries with cultures, we all got along 🙂 Danielle and Ran have big hearts and super humble for what they do. I’m happy that I made a decision to go with them. I hope to see them in the near future!
I’d been in touch with Ran Mor for over a year as he expertly guided me in putting together my first underwater housing for my DSLR. His advice was spot on- he was thinking way ahead of me and got me the right cables, flash assist, and several other seemingly minor components, which ended up being extremely relevant as I improved. Then he and his delightful, equally talented wife, Danielle, invited my husband and me on a photo dive trip to Bonaire. I had been so frustrated with controlling the flash and other aspects of underwater photography that I immediately accepted the invitation. The week in Bonaire FLEW by. What a special thing to dive with a professional photographer! He would kindly look at our shots and recommend a setting or a flash position. Or a wet lens. He also gave three very helpful lectures on land. At the end of the week, I no longer fight any aspect of my housing, lighting, or camera underwater! And I met a wonderful group of divers who I hope to dive again with someday- with Danielle and Ran Mor leading us!
The entire Cuba trip was an amazing adventure. The Avalon II was very comfortable and the crew was so attentive to our needs. The diving was absolutely the best in the Caribbean. The photography workshop and daily tutoring from Ran help improve my photography stills by light years. Love Cuba!!!
The combination of a diving in Cuba, the wonderful accommodations on the Avalon II and a fascinating and fun group of divers from around the world made this a dive experience of a lifetime. I’m ready to go again!
Ran and Danielle,
Thank you for all your hard work in putting together a most memorable diving and uw photo expedition to the Garden of the Queen, Cuba.
Everything went perfectly and I will be happy to recommend your programs to friends and colleagues. Keep up the great work.
I went with a friend to be a dive buddy on a trip to Bonaire. I did not know that I was in for such a wonderful expedition and learning adventure. Ran took this diver with limited photography experience and gave me the tools to show the beautiful world that I love to visit to others. I was amazed that I could bring back photos that were not all green and blurry. If they were, I learned what to do to correct that in the future!! Danielle made sure that we were all safe and taken care of in the diving department, as we were focusing on the macro environment to get the best pictures. The trip was amazing and I look forward to taking my family on the next trip with Ran and Danielle.
The underwater photography course with Ran and Danielle was amazing. I received personal attention in every area of photography and with diving skills. I would recommend this course to all levels of photographers. I am ready to sign up for the next course today.
I joined my wife on a photography workshop with Ran & Danielle as a non-photographer. I was very impressed with how organized and on time Ran & Danielle always were. I especially enjoyed the variety of dive sites they arranged, and how prepared they were with directions, dive site descriptions and best entry locations for shore dives. Boat dives were well planned with the resort and our group was always well taken care of. As a non-photographer I was never bored and has an amazing trip without participating in the workshops. In a week plus an extra day we dived three times a day for a total of 21 dives. Outstanding!
Ran & Danielle Mor did an outstanding job of leading, organizing, teaching, & planning our trip during our stay in Bonaire. They took control but were flexible and very easy with accommodating everyone’s needs. They talked to dive staff daily to scout out the best dive sites given the wind and current conditions. They always had water and snacks for everyone (not expected but always appreciated). Ran was an excellent photo instructor, and always available for questions in and out of the water. My skills improved tremendously under his instruction as well as understanding the potential of where they can go. It was wonderful to have Danielle as part of the group as she navigated all of our shore dives, kept us safe and on time, and with her experience was always an excellent resource and help for equipment and dive issues. Ran and Danielle were extremely organized and were always on time. Outstanding group leaders!!
